IDEJA ZA DARILO: DIY PERSONALIZIRANE SKODELICE // GIFT IDEA: A PERSONALIZED MUG DIY

V preteklem mesecu sem se med drugim ukvarjala tudi z izdelavo vabil in dekoracije za Sarino 'Baby Shower' - zabavo pred prihodom dojenčka, pripravila pa sem tudi darilca za vse povabljene. Vsaka povabljenka je prejela skodelico z začetnico njenega imena. Izdelave oz. risanja po skodelicah sem se lotila kar sama in ker se mi to zdi odlična ideja tudi za kakšno darilo ob prihajajočih praznikih ali za rojstni dan, sem se odločila, da delim s tabo, kako lahko tako skodelico enostavno narediš tudi sama.

POTREBUJEŠ:

- bele keramične skodelice (jaz sem jih kupila v Tediju za 1,50€/kos, se jih pa da tudi ceneje dobiti prek spletnih trgovin)

- flomaster/flomastre za poslikavo keramike (kupljen v Rayherju za 3,99€, z njim se lahko piše tudi po steklu, porcelanu in kovinah)

- pečico
Po želji tudi: računalnik, tiskalnik, lepilni trak, svinčnik, papir

In the past month I've been working (among all the other things) on decorations and invitations for Sara's Baby Shower and I prepared small gifts for all her guests too. Each one has received a mug with her initial. I decided to draw the letter on the mugs by myself. Because this is also a great gift to give for Christmas, birthday... I'm sharing with you how can you easily make them too.

YOU WILL NEED:

- a white ceramic mugs (I bought it in Tedi shop for 1,50€ /mug, but you can find cheaper ones online)

- a porcelain pen (I bought it in Rayher hobby shop for 3,99 € and you can also use it on glass, porcelain and metal)

- an oven

Optional: computer, printer, duct tape, pencil, paper,...

Najprej sem v programu na računalniku izpisala vse začetnice in testirala različne vrste pisav, dokler nisem dobila tiste, ki mi je bila najbolj všeč. Brezplačne fonte si lahko naložiš tudi iz Google fonts. Izmerila sem višino skodelice, tako da sem lahko nastavila kako velike naj bodo črke in jih v programu prilagodila. Pred tiskanjem sem jih še zrcalila in natisnila.

Natisnjene črke sem izrezala (kot lahko vidiš na fotografiji zgoraj) in šla s svinčnikom po vseh črnih črtah. Papir sem nalepila na skodelico tako, da je prazna stran gledala navzven, črka pa je bila postavljena tako, kot sem želela da bo. Prazno stran sem pobarvala s svinčnikom in na ta način prenesla črko na keramiko. Papir sem odstranila in obris črke K je bil preslikan na skodelico. (fotografje spodaj).

Firstly, I wrote down all the initials in the program on my computer and I tested out different fonts, until I found the one I liked the most. You can also download some free fonts from Google Fonts. I measured the height of the mug, so I knew how big the letter should be and I adjusted the height in the program. I also mirrored the letters before I printed them out.

I cut out all the printed letters (as you can see on the photo above) and I redraw the lines on top of the existing printed lines with the pencil. I taped the letter on the mug, so that the blank side was facing outward and so the letter was placed as I planned. I took the pencil again, I coloured the blank side and transferred the letter to the ceramic. I removed the paper and the letter K was drawn on the mug. (photos below)

Vzela sem flomaster za keramiko (natančna navodila za uporabo so napisana na flomastru), pobarvala črko in dodala še nekaj pikic na spodnji rob. Po 4 ih urah sušenja sem skodelice postavila v mrzlo pečico, jo nastavila na 160°C in jih tako pustila 90 min. Po tem sem pečico izključila in skodelice pustila v zaprti pečici, da se postopoma ohladijo skupaj s pečico.

Seveda lahko vmesne korake s papirjem izpustiš in se risanja in ustvarjanja lotiš kar po navdihu. Ne pozabi pa pred risanjem dobro obrisati skodelice, saj se barva težje prime na mastne dele.

I took the porcelain pen (detailed instructions are on the pen), I coloured the letter and I added some dots on the bottom side. I left it for 4 hours to dry and then I put all the mugs in the cold oven. I set the oven on 160°C and I left them inside for 90 minutes. After that I turn the oven off, but I left the mugs inside to cool gradually.

You can also skip the part with the paper and you can draw and write on the mug as you wish. But don't forget to wipe the mug before drawing on it.
