TRAVEL TO ITALY: MANTOVA, PISA, LUCCA | architecture

Palazzo Te, Mantova
After Vicenza and Verona, we had three short stops in Mantova, Pisa and Lucca. I've never heard of Mantova and Luca before that trip, but I was excited for visiting Pisa and the leaning Tower. First visit was Palazzo del Te in Mantova. Beautiful palace, work of Giulio Romano. We had a tour around the palace and then we had to find a place in the garden to sketch. The weather was really windy so it was even harder to sketch.

After Mantova we had a long drive and 235 km later, we finally arrived to Pisa, Tuscany. Sadly we weren't there like tourists, so the only thing we saw was the Piazza dei Miracoli (also known as Piazza del Duomo) with the famous leaning Tower. Our job was to sketch the exterior of the buildings and the interior of the Duomo. Suddenly we were running back to the bus and our visit in Pisa was over. Everything went so quickly that I haven't even realized that I am in Pisa.

Our last stop that day was in Lucca. Again, we had a quick stop just to sketch the beautiful Piazza dell'Anfiteatro. But the architecture and the narrow streets between the buildings completely enchant you, so I would love to go back again and visit Lucca and Pisa (at least) one more time, but this time without hurrying.

The photos are black and white in this post, because the weather was awful and that's why the photos are bad. Also in that time I didn't have a normal camera, so I had to took all the photos with my phone.
