DIY: OBOŽUJEM TE MAJHNE PAPIRNATE LANTERNE // I LOVE THESE SIMPLE MINI PAPER LANTERNS DIY

DIY | SIMPLE MINI PAPER LANTERNS

SLO

Obožujem praznično vzdušje v decembru. Rada okrašujem stanovanje in ob tem najraje znova in znova poslušam praznične pesmi.

Ostalih 11 mesecev so zaprti v omaro - a ni to takšna potrata prostora?

VSAKA SKODELICA IMA ZGODBO // EVERY MUG HAS A STORY

V tem trenutku je v moji omari 15 majhnih in 18 velikih skodelic, 2 XXL skodelice, 1 mini skodelica in 3 posode za kosmiče in zdaj ugotovi, koliko ljudi živi tukaj? Dva. :D In skoraj vsaka skodelica ima svojo zgodbo...

10 INSTAGRAM PROFILES TO FOLLOW

Do you have an Instagram account? I have and it was created as an addition to this blog. Through the years I've realized that there is a certain type of instagram pictures I like and people / brands I follow. I'm not like one of those people who follow everybody and in a few days unfollow everybody who doesn't follow them back. I follow people who have interesting content and friends, but my favourite ones are those with a (hidden) story.

with @brandsoffriends @carmen.creative @catherinednz @hellojackandmo @lamjed_majdi @little.home @paula__scott
@sanjusa_ @ugneagota @uten_s

Today, I'm sharing with you 10 instagram profiles (in the alphabetical order), that I like, I already follow and they all have less than 1000 followers (at this moment). Why is that important? Because I wanted to share some people and brands, that you probably don't know, but you should.

You'll realize that the pictures below have a lot in common. That's because I've chosen the ones that are my favourite and represents my taste as well. For sure there is a lot of white and neutral colours :D

KAKO NAREDITI ENOSTAVNO PLUTOVINASTO TABLO // HOW TO MAKE A SIMPLE BULLETIN BOARD

SLO

JESENSKA OZADJA ZA TVOJE NAPRAVE // FALL BACKGROUNDS FOR YOUR DEVICES

free fall background download

HELLO AUTUMN, I HAVE SOME NEWS FOR YOU | blog

Hi there!
It's been awhile since my last post, but I have a very good reason. I've decided to take my blog a step forward. I took some time off to plan, organize and read about how to make my blog better. I created this blog during my internship "hunt" last year and at first I thought this is going to be my personal page with a portfolio, a contact form and maybe a blog post once in a while, but I love blogging so much, that I've realized, I can do so much more. My first blog is about exercising and my journey to a healthier life. Is my motivation and a place where I share my goals, achievements and struggles, but design, home decor, architecture, photography, DIYs... are the things I'm really interested in and I want to write about.

The autumn is coming in a couple of days, colder weather and shorter days are just around the corner, which means I will have more time to write and you will have more time to read. ;)

Hello Autumn!

QUOTE ON A CANVAS | DIY

What is the difference between the house/apartment and a home? The difference is in these little things around us, that we love and makes us happy and comfortable. "A home is made of bricks and beams, a home is built of love and dreams." We moved to current apartment exactly a year ago and since then I've been trying to turn it into a home. I'm still a student (I hope only for 2 more months), so I don't have much money to decorate the place as I want to. That's why I love DIY projects! With a little time and effort you can make amazing things! One thing that I've wanted to do for a long time is to decorate the empty wall behind my desk with some photos and printed or painted quotes.

MY SKETCHBOOK - TRAVEL TO ITALY | architecture

We had a field trip in our 3rd year at University, but it wasn't an excursion like any other. We went there to sketch the beautiful Italy. I was so nervous. It was a first time that we went out to sketch some real buildings out and we had to do it in 5 minutes. Professor was walking around, correcting us and I was so afraid that my hands were shaking when I tried to draw my first line very carefully. You can imagine how did my first pilasters look like :D Drawing a sketch after sketch I finally realized that slow and careful motions don't bring good results. After a week I learned so much - I was confident and I was able to finish a sketch in 5 min. :D I'm not saying that I can perfectly sketch now, but for sure I learned a lot and I'm happy that I did.

TRAVEL TO ITALY: ASSISI, GUBBIO, URBINO | architecture

Assisi
Everybody is excited about Tuscany, right? But if you take a step further, you will find many other beautiful places and during our field trip, we've also visited these three: Assisi, Gubbio and Urbino. We spent most of the time in Assisi and that is why I have so many photos from there. I was thrilled. Stone houses side by side, wooden shutters and colorful flowers on the windows were really eye-catching. Walking along narrow cobblestone streets between these houses was relaxing and I get a feeling that the time has stopped. I think, I can never get enough of this feeling...

FASHION SHOW THE MESSAGE | fashion design

Every year, last year students of fashion design (High school for Design and Photography in Ljubljana), prepare a final fashion show, where each student present her/his own creations. The theme of this year fashion show was The Message. Each student has presented the message to the world in her/his own way. Diverse presentations of fashion collections covered everything from sports to extravagant and modern clothes.

The reason I visited the fashion show was, that my sister Katrin is one of the students. It was nice to see a final result after months of hard work and I'm really proud of what she accomplished. Her message was the light, which represents the perseverance and optimism.

Katrin: "I focused mainly on lamps, chandeliers, light bulbs etc. since I was attracted by their variety of shapes, sizes and details. Each lamp is different and so are the people. But we all have one thing in common - we live and the life is like the light switched on in our bodies. The concept of this collection represents the bright side, enlightenment and a '' light '', which is hidden in us. Dresses are simple, minimalist and elegant. The special addition are the small LED lights, hidden under the sleeves and under the fabric. The collection is coloured in golden tones that highlight the concept. I used a natural material, silk taft, which is compact and creates the desired appearance of clothes. Clothes are designed for everyday use, but still for some evening or a business opportunities."

TRAVEL TO ITALY: SAN GIMIGNANO, SIENA | architecture

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Piazza Della Cisterna, San Gimignano, Italy
After spending two days in Florence, it was time to move on and visit some other beautiful places. I was again enchanted by the beautiful architecture, this time in San Gimignano and Siena. Brick buildings, narrow streets and the beautiful views on the Tuscan landscape are just breathtaking. I know I said this in almost every posts by now, but it's true. Tuscany is magical and every place we've visited has a special place in my heart. Sadly the weather in San Gimignano and Siena was the worst possible, so the pictures are not doing any favours to these two beautiful towns. I wish I had had a proper camera back then and a little more time to explore and enjoy. And yes, the sunny weather would be nice...

TRAVEL TO ITALY: FLORENCE | architecture

Next stop: The heart of Tuscany - Florence.
The view from Ponte Vecchio - Pont Santa Trinita, Florence
We spent two days there, but it wasn't enough. The city is so beautiful and the view from the hill is just breathtaking. We actually had an evening "picnic" on the hill, drinking wine and admiring the Florence's skyline. I will let the pictures tell the story, but what I will remember the most is beautiful architecture, really expensive coffee and the proposal we saw on Ponte Vecchio.

HOW TO REUSE OLD DRAWERS | home

This is not a DIY post, but still, you will have to do this by yourself. Last time I showed you, what I did with an old wooden drawer, but I have a lot of old drawers in my room. I had an old wooden desk a few years ago and when I got a new desk, the older one wasn't in any use, so I put it away, but I kept 7 wooden drawers. I thought is too bad to destroy them. One of them became a bed tray / lap desk (DIY in other post here) and the other 6 I'm using for organizing my things.

TRAVEL TO ITALY: MANTOVA, PISA, LUCCA | architecture

Palazzo Te, Mantova
After Vicenza and Verona, we had three short stops in Mantova, Pisa and Lucca. I've never heard of Mantova and Luca before that trip, but I was excited for visiting Pisa and the leaning Tower. First visit was Palazzo del Te in Mantova. Beautiful palace, work of Giulio Romano. We had a tour around the palace and then we had to find a place in the garden to sketch. The weather was really windy so it was even harder to sketch.

DIY PLADENJ ZA V POSTELJO / A BED TRAY DIY

SLO

TRAVEL TO ITALY: VICENZA AND VERONA | architecture

Torre di Piazza, Basilica Palladiana, Vicenza // Palladio's Casa Cogollo, Vicenza
I love Italy. I don't know at which point in my life I started loving old parts of the cities, but I do and there is a lot of old cities in Italy. :) There is this special energy which is indescribable and this energy just grab you and it doesn't let you go. I could walk around with 'gelato' in my hand for the whole day and I wouldn't get bored. Every building has its own story and every story has the beautifully formed facade. It is like the time stops for a moment and there is just you and the city.

During my study I've visited some different cities in Italy, mostly in the northern part and I was so impressed that I decided to share some photos from my trips with you. In this first "monday photos" post I'm sharing photos from the first two cities we've visited during our 'sketching trip' 3 years ago: Vicenza and Verona.

TWO OPEN AND CONNECTED AREAS | architecture

The Holidays are over, but I would like to go back for a while on the Christmas eve. This was the day when my project was published in a 'Delo in dom' magazine. This project is actually one of 25 different projects designed by architecture students from our university. It is some sort of competition where people send applications with their house/flat plans and a description of their wishes. The theme this year was attic apartments in a collaboration with Velux - roof windows and blinds company.
